PROJECT DESCRIPTION: CZR Incorporated (CZR) assisted Wilmington District Corps by collection and analyses of Wanchese Harbor Channel sediments for specified physical and chemical parameters. The purpose of the study was to determine the nature of sediments used in conjunction with a marsh creation site in the Roanoke Sound.
CZR collected ponar grabs from four sites. Two sites were sampled in shallow waters just north of the Wanchese Harbor in Roanoke Sound. Two other sites were collected from the Wanchese Harbor Channel. CZR collected the sediments, preserved the samples, and prepared the samples for shipment to an analytical laboratory. Sampling locations were determined using CZR boats and sub-meter GPS equipment.
